Easter Baskets

For my Godchildren (and their siblings) for Easter, I made small tote bags and filled them with candy and felt Peeps.

Felt Peeps

I am addicted to Pinterest and I’ve been in a creative mood. However, my craft supplies are all in Michigan. Really, the only thing I have here is felt and embroidery floss. So, I’ve been using Google and Pinterest to find cool crafts to do when I get home. I found a Peep garland tutorial, but have no use for that. It did, however, give me the idea to make felt Peeps to put in the Easter baskets (which I’m also going to make) I’m going to send to my God-kids. I think they turned out super cute. They were really easy and inexpensive. I got the felt at a dollar store (in a multi-sheet pack) and I already had the floss.

Cute as a Button

Granny gave us a bunch of old buttons that someone had given to her and she didn’t want/need. So, I’ve been googling button crafts and projects to get ideas on what to do with them. These are a few of the cutest.

book flowers, note cards, button tree, button cookies, tea napkins, snowflake necklace

I know that title is so cliche, but come on, these things are super cute AND they’re buttons. What else am I suppose to title it?

Monkey Business

For Christmas, I made monkeys for my Godchildren using the Molly the Monkey pattern from mmmcrafts. Let me introduce Pete the Pirate, Moxie the chic Monkey, Princess Piala, and the fairy Faye. I’m really impressed with how well they turned out.

Faerie Quilt

The faerie quilt is finished. So girlie and so cute. I hope my friend’s baby loves it!

Ashley pieced the other quilt for another pregnant friend and is mailing it to me so that I can quilt it. I love all these new babies!

Fairy Quilt Blocks

My latest sewing project. Sometimes it’s fun to make super girly quilts. I love the crazy quilt style of the blocks… it’s super easy to make. I have three blocks completed and at least four in progress. I need twelve total for the pattern I’m doing. While I cut and sewed, I listened to Oscar Wilde’s The Portrait of Dorian Grey which counts for the book challenge I’m doing.

Dress Up Clothes

I went shopping for birthday presents for Lily.  I wanted to get her dress up clothes, but the dress up clothes at both Meijer and Target were cheaply made and ridiculous expensive.  So, I decided to make her something.  I went to Joann Fabrics and found a couple patterns.  One was for a super easy tutu that turned out so cute I might be a ballerina for Halloween next year.  I also picked out a dress pattern that did not require buttons, zippers or any other fasteners.  Then I picked out sparkly fabric.  I think they turned out pretty good.  And I had a blast making them.  I think I’m going to make something for Raven for Christmas….  maybe a fairy dress.

Hand-appliqued, machine-pieced and hand-quilted.
I borrowed the owl template from Amazing Mae.

Monkey Quilt v2.0

After making a monkey quilt for my Goddaughter, I decided I needed to make one for myself. It’s just too cute. Here is the first monkey in progress:
