8th Day of Christmas

On the eighth day of Christmas, I wrapped all my presents. For my immediate family, I used word search gift tags (got the idea on Pinterest). They will have to figure out if their name is in the word search and keep the gift if it is. If their name isn’t in the word search, they’ll have to hand it off to someone else and the process will repeat itself. Should be interesting on Christmas morning… “:)

6th Day of Christmas

On the sixth day of Christmas, I made dog treats for all of Toby and Rodney’s “friends”. The red treats were made with beets and the green ones with spinach. The tan ones are peanut butter based.

Easter Baskets

For my Godchildren (and their siblings) for Easter, I made small tote bags and filled them with candy and felt Peeps.

Dyed Buttons

I discovered via the Rit Dye website  that you can dye buttons. I have had so much fun with it. Especially since I have no idea which buttons will take the dye and which won’t. I just throw a handful in the dye and see what happens. Here are some of the buttons I dyed and a projects I made with them, which are Christmas gifts. [Yes, I know it’s March, but since we were all in different states in December, we haven’t done our family Christmas yet.]

Homemade Book

With the trip out to California (and the sight-seeing along the way), Ashley and decided not to buy Christmas gifts for each other. We decided instead to make something for the other person. I wracked my brain trying to come up with an idea. I didn’t want to sew something because she can sew and make it herself. I wanted to make something that she couldn’t. So, I wrote a short story, just for her. Then I hand wrote it on fancy paper, with decorative corners, etc. I made a fancy cover out of cardboard and bound it by hand with ribbon. I had an idea in my head of what I wanted it to look like, and it turned out even better than I could have imagined. I ordered a cigar box on Etsy to store it in, because it seemed like it needed and old box… like that’s how it was found or something.

Faerie Quilt

The faerie quilt is finished. So girlie and so cute. I hope my friend’s baby loves it!

Ashley pieced the other quilt for another pregnant friend and is mailing it to me so that I can quilt it. I love all these new babies!
