Book Blog Challenge – Day 3

What’s the last book you flung across the room?

I can’t recall ever flinging a book across a room. I respect books too much to throw them–even the poorly written ones. The last book I gave up on was “John Henry Days” by Colson Whitehead. I really wanted to like the story, I just didn’t. I didn’t care at all about the characters.

Book Blog Challenge – Day 2

What’s your bedtime reading ritual?

I don’t really have a ritual. Yes, I generally read before bed, but I don’t really do anything. I don’t have to read so many pages or anything like that. I just read in bed until the chapter ends or until I’m too tired to keep my eyes open, whichever comes first. I did buy a lamp for my nightstand, specifically so that I could read in bed without having to get up to turn the overhead light off before I went to sleep. (Prior to the lamp, I was using the flashlight on my cellphone.)

12 Day Book Challenge

I got this idea from Good Books, Good Wine. Here’s the challenge I’ll be starting after Christmas:

  1. What book are you currently reading?
  2. What’s your bedtime reading ritual?
  3. What’s the last book you flung across the room?
  4. Recommend a tear-jerker.
  5. Describe how you shop for books.
  6. How do you choose what book to read next?
  7. Describe one under-appreciated book everyone should read.
  8. What are your deal breakers?
  9. Name the worst book you read last year and the best.
  10. Make 10 book related confessions.
  11. A book you wish you could live in.
  12. What is the next book you’re going to read?
